We know that you have a lot to think about as you transition from your Animas® pump to another insulin delivery system. While that change can be hard, it’s important that you switch now to avoid any interruption in pump therapy.

There are many options, and it can take time to go from choosing your new pump through ordering, processing, and training. That’s why you should talk to your healthcare team and other pump providers as soon as possible to explore your options.

Registration for the Animas Pump Return Program ended July 31, 2019.

As we announced in October 2017, Animas is no longer manufacturing pumps and is exiting the insulin pump business. Pump supplies for your Animas pump will not be available from Animas or Medtronic in all markets worldwide after September 30, 2019. Moving forward you will need to switch your pump provider. Although you may continue to safely use your in-warranty* Animas pump, switching to a new pump provider now allows you to transition on your own time and avoid any interruption to your therapy. There have been limited time incentives offered by Animas and other pump companies at various times that you can take advantage of to help with your transition.

Animas® Insulin Pumps are warrantied four (4) years from the date of purchase. Refer to your pump purchase invoice to verify your warranty start date.

For clarity, eligibility to receive a $750 Mastercard® or Visa® Prepaid Card for an in-warranty pump is determined based on the sale date on the pump invoice. In general, patients only have one pump in warranty at a time, and only one (1) pump is eligible $750 Mastercard® or Visa® Prepaid Card. Additional pumps will require sale invoice(s) as proof of purchase to be eligible for $750 Mastercard® or Visa® Prepaid Card.

Some other insulin pump providers are offering incentives to Animas pump users to switch to their pumps without billing your insurance company.

 

These incentives plus the $750 offered from the Animas Pump Return Program may minimize or completely offset your out-of-pocket cost of switching to a new pump now. Check with your insurance company to see which insulin pumps and pump supplies are covered as you make your decision to switch to a new pump.

No - the Animas Pump Return Program was available to anybody who enrolled by July 31, 2019 and returns an eligible Animas pump. Please see the Terms and Conditions.

Yes – You must have registered your Animas pump in the Animas Pump Return Program by July 31, 2019. Contact Medtronic Representatives to discuss the process to transfer to a Medtronic pump and tell them that you have registered your qualifying pump to the Animas Pump Return Program. You can contact Medtronic at 1-855-322-9568 (option 2) or MedtronicDiabetes.com/Animas.

To qualify for the Animas Pump Return Program, the pump must be received by Animas no later than the earlier of: (i) within 90 days of enrollment or (ii) by September 30, 2019. That should give you enough time to comfortably transition to your new method of insulin delivery.

Yes – You can track the status of your pump return on the UPS website using the tracking number found on the prepaid label provided in the return materials.

Unfortunately, there is not an automated tracking status associated with Mastercard® or Visa® Prepaid Card. You will receive your Mastercard® or Visa® Prepaid Card by regular mail within 6 weeks of your pump(s) being returned to Animas.

Instructions for how to pack your pump were included with the return shipping materials that you were sent after you registered. You only need to return the pump itself: Do not include any pump system accessories (i.e. – batteries, cartridges, insulin, infusion sets, lancets, meters, etc.) in the return box with the pump.

 

If you are returning multiple pumps to Animas, you may pack them in the same return box. Remove the foam insert to allow for additional space.

Terms & Conditions
The Animas Pump Return Program (the “Program”) is available only in the United States. The Program applies to Animas OneTouch Ping® and Animas Vibe® Insulin Pumps that are in-warranty as of May 15, 2019 (“In-Warranty”) and pumps that are out-of-warranty and not covered under the limited warranty (“Out-of-Warranty”) (the “Eligible Pumps”)*. Program participants must be 18 years or older and must be the patient identified in the prescription for the Eligible Pump or the parent/legal guardian of that patient.

Participants who return an In-Warranty pump will receive $750.00 compensation from Animas. Participants who return an Out-of-Warranty pump will receive $50.00 compensation from Animas. Compensation may be paid by cash, check or prepaid card, at the option of Animas. Compensation will not be provided until Animas confirms that the pump and participant meets all eligibility requirements, in its sole discretion.

To participate in the Program, participants must enroll an Eligible Pump by July 31, 2019 and Animas must receive the Eligible Pump no later than the earlier of: (i) 90 days after such Enrollment or (ii) by September 30, 2019.

All Eligible Pumps provided to Animas through the Program will become the property of Animas and will not be returned to the participant under any circumstances.

Return of an In-Warranty pump to Animas through the Program terminates the pump warranty.

Exclusions: Animas Insulin Pumps provided for temporary use while a patient transitions to Medtronic through the Animas Break Replacement Program are not eligible for this Program. Animas Insulin Pumps that have been provided to Medtronic prior to May 20, 2019 in exchange for a Medtronic Insulin Pump are not eligible for this Program.
